      NOTES:

  1. The Mayor appoints and the Board approves the Mayoral appointments at the Annual Meeting of the Village Board each year with the following two exceptions: (1) The Mayor appoints a Deputy Mayor each year; (2) The Village Attorney is an employee of the Village until he resigns or is otherwise terminated.

  2. The terms expire at noon on the first Monday in the month following the Annual General Election; (the first Monday in December each year).

  3. Village Elections previously held in March are now held at the time of the General November elections, commencing in November, 1988.

  4. An Oath of Office is required.

  5. Policy of the Village Board, adopted by Resolution, January 16, 1989, requires that the Treasurer reside within the Town of Potsdam, rather than within the Village limits.

  6. Policy of the Village Board, adopted by Resolution, August 19,1991, requires that the Village Clerk reside within the Town of Potsdam, rather than within the Village limits.
