Teacher Kits

The Potsdam Public Museum, with its exhibitions, special events and programs, and teacher kit service, provides teachers with valuable resources designed to suppliment the elementary and secondary school cirricula that meet New York State teaching standards.

Download an application to request a teacher kit or call the museum at (315) 265-6910. Requests for teacher kits take up to 1 week to process. When picking up a kit, keep in mind the process takes about 15-20 minutes as the museum staff is required to review handling instructions and check list. The kits are loaned for 1 to 2 week time periods. When retuning kits to the museum schedule time for staff to go over check list.

The museum is working to make the contents available on-line and to update the kits to include: lists of contents, downloadable images with descriptions, lesson plans with activities and DBQ's .

 

If you are or were a teacher who used the kits and have time to help with this project, we are looking for volunteers. We are also looking for experts in any field for which we offer a kit.  We need volunteers with experience in: digital technology, digital phototgraphy, museum education, and web design.
